1:5 ratio climbing event

SFASA Climbing Party
When: Saturday, May 4, 2024, 11.30am-1:30pm
What: Climbing event that will be led by experienced staff at a 1:5 ratio. This includes a brief overview when participants arrive, safety skills, and instructions of rope and/or boulder climbing. Shoes and harnesses provided.
Where: Movement Gym, 100 El Camino Real, Belmont
Max number of climbers: 20
Who can climb: Ages 6+ only. Climbers also must be able to communicate sufficiently and function at a 1:5 ratio, to reduce risk and prevent them from putting themselves or others in danger (running under climbers/belayers/swinging on ropes). If the climber cannot take basic instruction at that level, this event will be too much for them. Parents would be on hand to provide additional support for the climber if they need time away from the group or someone familiar nearby to feel comfortable.
***We realize this event does not serve our entire SFASA community. This is a pilot project for SFASA, and we will know more about how to expand the audience after we see
how things go with this event.***

Cost and registration: $20 per climber, must register at SFAutismSociety.org. No cost for parents or other caregivers.
